Company intelligence / Profile preview
The Experimental Drug Development Centre (EDDC) is Singapore's national platform for drug discovery and development, established by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). Formed in 2019 through the integration of the Experimental Therapeutics Centre (ETC), the Drug Discovery and Development (D3) unit, and the Experimental Biotherapeutics Centre (EBC), it serves as a translational bridge between basic science and clinical application. EDDC partners with academic institutions and pharmaceutical companies to develop proprietary drug candidates, primarily focusing on oncology and infectious diseases. The center possesses end-to-end capabilities, including high-throughput screening, medicinal chemistry, and early-phase clinical trial management. Its portfolio includes notable first-in-class assets such as ETC-159, a Porcupine inhibitor, and EBC-129, a novel antibody-drug conjugate. By consolidating Singapore's drug development expertise, EDDC aims to accelerate the translation of local research into impactful therapeutics for patients globally.
