Abbie's Army

Abbie's Army is a UK-based non-profit organization dedicated to funding research and raising awareness for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) and Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG), which are aggressive and currently incurable childhood brain tumors. Founded in 2012 by Amanda and Ray Mifsud following the loss of their daughter Abbie, the charity has contributed over £1.8 million to high-impact medical research. Their funding supports innovative clinical trials, including GD2 and IL13-RA2 CAR-T cell therapies, as well as advanced radiotherapy techniques like helium ion therapy. Abbie's Army collaborates with leading institutions such as the Institute of Cancer Research and Great Ormond Street Hospital, and is a leadership partner in the international DIPG/DMG Collaborative. The organization operates with a volunteer-led model, ensuring that nearly all donations directly support its mission to find a cure for DIPG.
