APOE4 Alzheimer's Alliance

The ApoE4 Alzheimer's Alliance (A3) is a Washington, D.C.-based patient advocacy organization launched in April 2025 to represent the interests of individuals carrying the APOE4 gene, the strongest genetic risk factor for late-onset Alzheimer's disease. The Alliance focuses on advocating for tailored treatment strategies, increased federal research funding, and equitable access to diagnostic testing and specialized care. It actively engages with U.S. policymakers and the FDA to push for accelerated progress in innovative treatments and to address safety concerns, such as amyloid-related imaging abnormalities (ARIA), associated with current anti-amyloid therapies in APOE4 carriers. Through partnerships with pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions, the organization aims to drive the development of APOE4-targeted drugs and improve clinical care protocols. The Alliance also provides resources and support to patients and caregivers, utilizing patient storytelling to highlight unmet medical needs.
