Canada's Genomics Enterprise

CGEn (Canada's Genomics Enterprise) is a national platform for genome sequencing and analysis, established in 2014 to provide a coordinated network of genomic infrastructure across Canada. It operates as a consortium of three leading nodes: The Centre for Applied Genomics at SickKids, the McGill Genome Centre, and Canada's Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre at BC Cancer. The enterprise provides high-throughput sequencing, advanced bioinformatics, and data management services to support large-scale research in rare diseases, oncology, and infectious diseases. CGEn is primarily funded by the Canada Foundation for Innovation and Genome Canada, playing a critical role in advancing precision medicine and genomic research across the country. By integrating resources and expertise, CGEn enables Canadian researchers to conduct world-class genomic studies that drive clinical innovation and personalized healthcare.
