The firm gained national notoriety in 2009 when its founding partner, Steven Eugene Cauley, was convicted of misappropriating over $9 million in client settlement funds from an escrow account. Following the scandal and Cauley's subsequent imprisonment, the firm effectively ceased operations, with several partners transitioning to other legal practices. During its existence, it was recognized as a significant player in the field of shareholder rights and class action litigation.
