Company intelligence / Profile preview
The Central States, Southeast and Southwest Areas Pension Plan is a major multi-employer defined benefit pension fund headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois. Established in 1955 through collective bargaining between the Teamsters union and various employers, it provides retirement security for hundreds of thousands of participants across the United States. The fund is governed by a Board of Trustees with equal representation from both labor and management. While primarily a financial entity, it is closely affiliated with the Central States Health and Welfare Fund (TeamCare), which is one of the largest union-sponsored healthcare administrators in the country. In 2022, the plan received significant federal funding through the Special Financial Assistance Program to ensure its long-term solvency and ability to pay full benefits through 2051.
