Cook Women's Health is a specialized division of Cook Medical that develops and manufactures minimally invasive medical devices for reproductive health, obstetrics, and gynecology. The company is widely recognized for its industry-standard products, including the Bakri Postpartum Balloon for managing postpartum hemorrhage and the Cook Cervical Ripening Balloon for labor induction. With a history spanning over 40 years in the field, the division also provides a comprehensive portfolio of assisted reproductive technology (ART) and in vitro fertilization (IVF) tools, such as specialized needles, catheters, and incubators. Recently, the division has undergone a strategic transition, with its maternal-fetal medicine and gynecological surgery assets acquired by CooperSurgical in 2023, while its remaining IVF and ART business is slated for acquisition by the private equity firm Astorg.
