Fleming & Co

Fleming & Co, also known as Fleming Pharmaceuticals, was a specialty pharmaceutical company headquartered in Fenton, Missouri. Founded in 1950, the company focused on the development, manufacturing, and marketing of niche over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription products. Its core portfolio included the Ocean Nasal Spray brand, Mag-Ox 400 magnesium supplements, and Thyro-Block (potassium iodide) for radiation emergency preparedness. The company also marketed Nephro-Vite, a vitamin supplement specifically formulated for patients with renal disease. In January 2009, Fleming & Co was acquired by Akorn, Inc. for approximately $26 million to bolster Akorn's consumer health division. Following the acquisition, its products were integrated into Akorn's broader specialty pharmaceutical offerings.
