Company intelligence / Profile preview
Loeb, Rhoades & Co. was a prominent American investment banking firm founded in 1931 by Carl M. Loeb and John L. Loeb. Based in New York City, the firm grew to become one of the major players on Wall Street during the mid-20th century, providing brokerage and investment advisory services. While the firm likely facilitated financing and advisory for various healthcare and industrial companies, it was strictly a financial services entity and not a life sciences or biotechnology company. In 1979, it was acquired by Shearson Hayden Stone to form Shearson Loeb Rhoades, which was later acquired by American Express.
