Marvel Biosciences focuses on developing novel small molecule therapeutics by creating synthetic derivatives of existing off-patent drugs, primarily targeting the adenosine A2a receptor. Their lead candidate MB‑204 has demonstrated promising preclinical efficacy across multiple neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders—including Alzheimer’s disease, depression, anxiety, autism spectrum disorder, Rett syndrome, and Fragile X syndrome—and has completed cGMP synthesis and toxicology studies with preparations underway for clinical trials. Early data suggest MB‑204 may outperform current treatments such as trofinetide in models of Rett Syndrome.
