relamorelin
Phase 2- Indications
- Diabetic gastroparesis
Company intelligence / Profile preview
Motus Therapeutics developed relamorelin, a ghrelin agonist peptide for diabetic gastroparesis. In a randomized, double-blind Phase IIb trial with over 390 patients, relamorelin showed substantial efficacy in reducing symptoms such as nausea and vomiting and improving gastric motility. The drug was generally well-tolerated but had some dose-related adverse events related to glycemic control. High placebo response limited statistical significance on the primary endpoint but overall results were encouraging enough for Allergan to acquire the company and plan Phase III trials.[3][4]
