Nereus Pharmaceuticals General Information

Nereus developed a pipeline of small molecule therapeutics derived from marine microorganisms. Its lead compounds included plinabulin (NPI‑2358), a vascular disrupting agent for solid tumors and HER2-negative breast cancer that later advanced to Phase 3 under BeyondSpring; salinosporamide A (NPI‑0052), a proteasome inhibitor for multiple myeloma and other cancers; and NPI‑1342/NPI‑1302a‑3 targeting the NF-kappa B pathway for oncology and inflammation. The company was acquired by Triphase Research & Development in 2012. Several programs were discontinued or outlicensed after acquisition.
