Nisga'a Valley Health Authority

Nisga'a Valley Health Authority (NVHA) is a First Nations-led health authority that manages and delivers comprehensive healthcare services to the Nisga'a Nation and residents of the Nass Valley in British Columbia, Canada. Established in 1984, NVHA operates four health centres across the traditional Nisga'a territory, including its main hub, the James Samuel Gosnell Memorial Health Centre in Gitlaxt'aamiks. The authority provides a wide range of services, including primary care, nursing, public health, mental health, home and community care, and traditional wellness programs. NVHA is unique in administering its own needs-based prescription drug plan and health benefits program, integrating modern medical practices with Nisga'a cultural knowledge and values.
