Provascular, Inc., frequently referred to as Provascular Medical, was an innovative medical technology company specializing in the development of advanced neurovascular devices for the treatment of brain aneurysms and vascular malformations. The company’s primary innovation centered on specialized embolic coil delivery systems and microcatheters designed to enhance precision and ease of use during interventional neuroradiology procedures. By improving the maneuverability and deployment of embolic materials, Provascular aimed to provide safer and more effective endovascular treatment options for patients at risk of hemorrhagic stroke. In 2007, the company was acquired by Codman & Shurtleff, Inc., a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, which integrated Provascular's technologies into its global neurovascular portfolio. Following the acquisition, these technologies became foundational assets for Cerenovus, Johnson & Johnson's dedicated neurovascular business unit.
