R&D-Biopharmaceuticals GmbH was a German biotechnology company based in Martinsried, specializing in the discovery and development of novel small molecule therapeutics derived from natural products. The company's core focus was on two potent classes of compounds: Tubulysins, which are antimitotic tetrapeptides, and second-generation Epothilones, both of which target microtubules to inhibit cancer cell division. R&D-Biopharmaceuticals established key strategic partnerships with companies such as Insert Therapeutics (now Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals) and Endocyte to develop targeted drug conjugates using its proprietary payloads. The company's intellectual property and development programs were later transitioned to Tube Pharmaceuticals GmbH, which was subsequently acquired by the Spanish biopharmaceutical company Oncomatryx in 2023.
