Company intelligence / Profile preview
Scott & Turner was a historic British pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare company based in Newcastle upon Tyne. The firm is most famous for creating Andrews Liver Salts, an effervescent laxative and antacid that became a staple in British households after its launch in 1894. The company's success led to its acquisition in 1923 by the American pharmaceutical giant Sterling Drug. Following several decades of corporate mergers and divestitures, the brand eventually became part of the GlaxoSmithKline portfolio. Today, the legacy of Scott & Turner lives on through Haleon, which continues to manufacture and market the Andrews brand globally.
