Siggi's Dairy, officially The Icelandic Milk and Skyr Corporation, is a leading producer of Icelandic-style yogurt known as skyr. Founded in 2004 by Siggi Hilmarsson, the company was born out of a desire to bring less-sweet, simple-ingredient yogurt to the American market. The brand distinguishes itself by using significantly less sugar than mainstream yogurt brands and avoiding artificial sweeteners or preservatives. Its product portfolio includes a variety of skyr products, including strained yogurt, drinkable yogurt, and plant-based alternatives. In 2018, the company was acquired by the global dairy leader Lactalis, though it continues to operate with its distinct brand identity.
