Company intelligence / Profile preview
St Stephen's AIDS Trust (SSAT) was a prominent UK-based clinical research organization and charity dedicated to the study and treatment of HIV/AIDS and related infectious diseases. Founded in 1991 and based at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, the organization became one of the largest HIV clinical trial centers in Europe. SSAT specialized in Phase I through IV clinical trials, collaborating extensively with global pharmaceutical companies like ViiV Healthcare, Gilead Sciences, and GSK. The trust provided comprehensive research services, including trial design, recruitment, and data management, while also funding educational initiatives and investigator-led studies. Following financial challenges, the organization entered administration in 2018 and its research activities were largely transitioned to the NHS.
