St. Mary's Duluth Clinic (SMDC) is a prominent healthcare system based in Duluth, Minnesota, that now operates as a core component of Essentia Health. Established in 1997 through the merger of St. Mary's Medical Center and the Duluth Clinic, the organization provides a comprehensive range of medical services, including primary care, specialized surgery, and emergency medicine. It serves as a critical regional tertiary center for patients across northeastern Minnesota, northwestern Wisconsin, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. SMDC is recognized for its integration of multi-specialty physician groups with hospital-based care, facilitating a seamless patient experience.
