Overview
Versartis developed a long‐acting form of recombinant human growth hormone using the XTEN technology platform. Its lead candidate, VRS‐317 ("Somavaratan"), aimed to reduce injection frequency for patients with growth hormone deficiency from daily to monthly or semi-monthly dosing. The company advanced this program into late-stage clinical trials but ultimately discontinued development after failing to meet primary endpoints in pivotal studies.
