Watson Pharmaceuticals was a leading global specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development, manufacturing, and distribution of generic and branded pharmaceutical products. Founded in 1984, the company grew into one of the world's largest generic drug manufacturers through a series of strategic acquisitions, including the Arrow Group and the Actavis Group. Its branded business was particularly strong in therapeutic areas such as urology, women's health, and nephrology, featuring key products like Rapaflo and Gelnique. In 2013, following its acquisition of Actavis, the company adopted the Actavis name globally, eventually evolving into Allergan plc. The legacy generic operations were later divested to Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, while the branded portfolio became part of AbbVie.
