Woman's Medical Hospital

Woman's Medical Hospital was a general acute care hospital located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that operated briefly between 2004 and 2005. The facility was established by a group of investors and physicians to acquire the Medical College of Pennsylvania (MCP) Hospital from Tenet Healthcare after the latter announced plans to close the site. Occupying the historic campus at 3300 Henry Avenue, which was originally the home of the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania, the hospital provided emergency, inpatient, and outpatient services. Despite significant community support and its historical legacy as a pioneer in medical education for women, the hospital faced insurmountable financial challenges and low patient volume. Woman's Medical Hospital officially ceased all clinical operations in March 2005, and the campus has since been redeveloped into a mixed-use complex known as Falls Center.
