(2R)-2‑({9‑(1‑methylethyl)‑6‑[(4‑pyridin‑2‑ylbenzyl)amino]‑9H purin–2–yl}amino)butan–1–ol, also known as CR8 or RC8, is a synthetic small molecule and a purine derivative. It is an experimental compound primarily studied as a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor, with selectivity for cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2). CDK inhibitors are of interest in oncology and cell cycle research due to their ability to modulate cell proliferation by interfering with the activity of kinases essential for cell cycle progression. The compound has been used in preclinical studies but does not have approved therapeutic indications at this time[1][7][9].
