(2R)-N-hydroxy‑3‑naphthalen‑2‑yl‑2‑[(naphthalen‑2‑ylsulfonyl)amino]propanamide is a synthetic small molecule belonging to the class of naphthalene sulfonic acid derivatives. It has been studied as an experimental inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinases, particularly matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP‐9), MMP‐3, and MMP‐13. These enzymes are involved in the degradation of extracellular matrix components and play roles in cancer metastasis, tissue remodeling, and inflammatory diseases. By inhibiting these targets, this compound may have potential applications in oncology or other conditions involving pathological tissue breakdown[5]. However, it remains an experimental agent with no approved therapeutic indications.
