(3R)-3-(fluoromethyl)-N-(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-7-sulfonamide is a synthetic small molecule belonging to the class of tetrahydroisoquinolines and sulfonamides. It has been studied primarily as an experimental compound in pharmacology and medicinal chemistry. The compound is notable for its role as a potent inhibitor of phenylethanolamine N-methyltransferase (PNMT), an enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of epinephrine from norepinephrine. Structural studies have shown that it binds to a cryptic site on PNMT and induces conformational changes in the enzyme's active site[5]. There are no approved indications or clinical trials beyond preclinical research.
