C-092 (also known as ASPP 092) is a diarylheptanoid compound isolated from the ethanol extract of *Curcuma comosa*, a medicinal plant native to Thailand. It is being investigated for its neuroprotective and antioxidant properties, particularly in the context of neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's disease. C-092 acts as a potent radical scavenger and an inducer of the Nrf-2 (Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2) signaling pathway, which upregulates antioxidant enzymes and maintains catalase activity. Additionally, it exhibits anti-apoptotic effects by suppressing the expression of phospho-p53 and cleaved caspase-3 in neuronal cell models.
