Overview
(S)-4-C3HPG is a synthetic, stereoselective agonist/antagonist ligand for group I metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluRs), especially the mGluR1 and mGluR5 subtypes. Its core structure is a phenylglycine derivative, and it acts as a **selective group I mGluR antagonist**, with moderate agonist properties as well. It is primarily used in research to study the function of mGluR1 and mGluR5 in the central nervous system. Analogs such as (R,S)-4C3HPG or other stereoisomers may have different receptor profiles.
