Drug intelligence / Profile preview
[¹⁶¹Tb]Tb-ART-101 is a next-generation, prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeted radiopharmaceutical therapy being developed for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer, specifically metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). It consists of the small-molecule ligand ART-101 radiolabeled with the therapeutic beta- and Auger/conversion electron-emitting radionuclide terbium-161 (¹⁶¹Tb). ART-101 was discovered and developed at the Advanced Radiotheranostics Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is licensed to Archeus Technologies. Preclinical studies demonstrate that [¹⁶¹Tb]Tb-ART-101 exhibits high tumor uptake and prolonged retention with lower salivary gland and normal tissue uptake compared to existing PSMA-targeted agents like Pluvicto, potentially reducing side effects such as xerostomia.
