[1-13C] glucose is a stable isotope-labeled tracer used primarily as a research probe in metabolic neuroimaging and physiological studies. Unlike radioactive tracers, it contains the non-radioactive carbon-13 isotope at the C-1 position, allowing for the detection of its metabolic products via 13C magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS).
