Overview

[111In]In-JMV 6659 is a radiolabeled peptide-based diagnostic agent designed for the imaging of tumors that overexpress the neurotensin receptor 1 (NTS1). It consists of the NTS1 antagonist JMV 6659, a stabilized neurotensin(8-13) analog, conjugated to the chelator DOTA (1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid) and labeled with the gamma-emitting radioisotope Indium-111. NTS1 is a G-protein coupled receptor that is significantly upregulated in various malignancies, including prostate, pancreatic, and breast cancers, while showing limited expression in healthy tissues. As an antagonist, JMV 6659 offers potential advantages over agonists, such as improved metabolic stability and higher tumor-to-background ratios. This radiopharmaceutical is primarily used in Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) to localize primary tumor lesions and metastatic sites, supporting the development of NTS1-targeted theranostic strategies.
