[111In]In-JMV 7488 is a radiolabeled peptide-based radiopharmaceutical designed for the targeted imaging of tumors overexpressing neurotensin receptor 2 (NTS2). The compound is a neurotensin analogue with the chemical structure DOTA-(βAla)2-Lys-Lys-Pro-(D)Trp-Ile-TMSAla-OH, where the DOTA moiety chelates the gamma-emitting radioisotope indium-111. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that [111In]In-JMV 7488 possesses high affinity and selectivity for NTS2, with negligible binding to the closely related NTS1 receptor. Given that NTS2 is frequently overexpressed in various malignancies, including prostate cancer, pancreatic adenocarcinoma, and breast cancer, this agent is being investigated as a diagnostic tool for the detection and staging of these diseases. It has been evaluated in vitro on HT-29 and MCF-7 cell lines and in vivo using HT-29 xenograft models.
