[11C]AZD2184 is a radioligand developed for Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging of β-amyloid deposits in the brain. It has high affinity for amyloid fibrils in vitro (dissociation constant: 8.4 ± 1.0 nM) and provides enhanced imaging properties with higher signal-to-background ratio compared to other amyloid imaging agents like PIB (Pittsburgh compound B). The radioligand demonstrates rapid brain uptake followed by rapid washout, making it suitable for quantitative analysis of amyloid deposition in Alzheimer's disease. [11C]AZD2184 was developed by AstraZeneca and has been evaluated in clinical studies for detecting amyloid deposits in patients with Alzheimer's disease.
