Overview

[11C]CHDI-00485626 is a Carbon-11 labeled radiopharmaceutical developed as a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging agent. It is designed to selectively bind to mutant huntingtin (mHTT) protein aggregates in the brain. Huntington's disease is characterized by the expansion of CAG repeats in the HTT gene, leading to the production of mHTT, which aggregates and causes neurodegeneration. This tracer allows for the non-invasive quantification of mHTT load in vivo, serving as a critical biomarker for disease progression and the evaluation of huntingtin-lowering therapies in clinical trials. It was developed through a collaboration involving the CHDI Foundation.
