Overview

[11C]CURB is a carbon-11 radiolabeled carbamate radiotracer developed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) activity in the brain. It acts as an irreversible inhibitor, selectively targeting and binding to FAAH, the primary enzyme responsible for the degradation of endocannabinoids including anandamide. [11C]CURB uptake in brain tissues demonstrates the regional distribution of FAAH, with high specificity and sensitivity, making it a reliable tool for measuring FAAH activity in vivo for research purposes, including the investigation of neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative conditions.[1][3][5]
