[11C]diprenorphine is a positron emission tomography (PET) radioligand used to study the opioid receptor system in vivo. It is synthesized by carbon-11 methylation of diprenorphine and acts as a non-selective antagonist at all opioid receptor subtypes (mu, kappa, and delta). With a short half-life due to the carbon-11 isotope, it allows for quantitative imaging of opioid receptors in research settings.
