[131I]ICF01012 is a melanin-targeting radiopharmaceutical compound developed for the diagnosis and treatment of metastatic melanoma. This agent combines the beta-emitting radioisotope iodine-131 with ICF01012, a quinoxaline derivative that specifically binds to melanin receptors. The compound demonstrates high specific and long-lasting uptake in melanoma tumors while clearing rapidly from non-target organs, providing favorable dosimetry parameters for therapeutic applications[1][6]. The mechanism of action involves the delivery of beta radiation directly to melanoma cells through melanin targeting.
