Overview

[161Tb] PSMA I&T (PPhB-Tb01) is a next-generation radioligand therapy developed by PET Pharm Biotech for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). The drug consists of the PSMA I&T (Imaging and Therapy) peptide ligand, which specifically targets the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) overexpressed on prostate cancer cells, labeled with the radioisotope terbium-161 (161Tb). Terbium-161 is a potent therapeutic radionuclide that emits both beta particles and a high density of short-range Auger and conversion electrons. This dual emission profile potentially offers enhanced therapeutic efficacy compared to lutetium-177 by delivering a higher radiation dose to small clusters of tumor cells and micrometastases while sparing surrounding healthy tissue. The program is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
