[177Lu] PSMA I&T

[177Lu] PSMA I&T (PPhB-Lu01) is a therapeutic radiopharmaceutical developed by PET Pharm Biotech for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). It consists of a PSMA-targeting peptide ligand (PSMA I&T, standing for Imaging and Therapy) labeled with the beta-emitting radioisotope Lutetium-177. The drug specifically targets the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), a protein highly overexpressed on the surface of prostate cancer cells. Upon binding to PSMA, the radiopharmaceutical is internalized into the cell, where the Lutetium-177 delivers localized ionizing radiation, causing DNA damage and subsequent cell death. This targeted approach aims to maximize tumor destruction while sparing healthy tissues.
