Overview

[18F]-F0502B is a fluorine-18 labeled positron emission tomography (PET) tracer developed by Shanghai Braegen Pharmaceuticals for the early diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. The agent is designed to selectively bind to alpha-synuclein aggregates, which are the primary pathological hallmark of synucleinopathies, including Parkinson's disease, multiple system atrophy (MSA), and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). By enabling the non-invasive visualization of these aggregates in the brain, [18F]-F0502B serves as a diagnostic tool to improve diagnostic accuracy and monitor disease progression. It is currently in the preclinical stage, with investigator-initiated clinical studies ongoing to evaluate its performance in human subjects.
