Overview

[18F]91 is an investigational **fluorine-18 labeled amyloid-beta PET radiotracer** developed for in vivo imaging of cerebral amyloid pathology in Alzheimer's disease. It is described in the literature as a dimethylamino-modified analogue related to [18F]florbetazine and is intended to bind amyloid-beta aggregates in the brain, enabling PET-based detection of amyloid burden. In a head-to-head human imaging study against [11C]PiB and [18F]florbetazine, [18F]91 showed cortical uptake in Alzheimer's disease patients relative to healthy controls, but appeared to have more nonspecific binding in myelin-rich regions than [18F]florbetazine, suggesting inferior imaging characteristics versus that comparator for clinical amyloid imaging.
