[18F]AlF-PSMA-11 is a radiopharmaceutical used in positron emission tomography (PET) imaging for the detection of prostate cancer lesions. It consists of a prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) inhibitor labeled with fluorine-18 via an aluminum fluoride (AlF) chelation chemistry. The drug binds specifically to PSMA, a cell surface protein highly expressed in prostate cancer cells, allowing sensitive and specific imaging of primary tumors and metastatic disease. Compared to [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11, [18F]AlF-PSMA-11 offers a longer half-life and potentially broader distribution[1][3][7]. It is primarily used for the diagnosis and staging of prostate cancer and evaluation of suspected recurrence[1][6][7][9].
