Overview

[18F]DK222 is a fluorine-18 labeled radiopharmaceutical developed by the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins University. It functions as a positron emission tomography (PET) imaging tracer that binds with high affinity and specificity to programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1). PD-L1 is a key immune checkpoint protein often upregulated in various malignancies, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and urothelial cancer, to facilitate immune evasion. By enabling non-invasive, whole-body assessment of PD-L1 expression, [18F]DK222 PET/CT imaging aims to improve patient selection for anti-PD-(L)1 therapies and provide a tool for monitoring the dynamic changes in the tumor microenvironment during treatment.
