Drug intelligence / Profile preview
[18F]DMPY2 is a fluorine-18 labeled positron emission tomography (PET) imaging radiotracer developed by CNcure for the detection and staging of malignant melanoma. The tracer is designed to specifically bind to melanin, a pigment produced by melanocytes that is often present in high concentrations in melanoma cells. By targeting melanin, [18F]DMPY2 aims to provide high-contrast imaging of primary and metastatic melanoma lesions, potentially offering superior sensitivity compared to standard tracers like [18F]FDG, which can be limited by high background uptake in certain tissues. The agent is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
