Drug intelligence / Profile preview
[18F]EKZ-002 is a fluorine-18 labeled positron emission tomography (PET) imaging tracer developed by Eikonizo Therapeutics. It specifically targets Histone Deacetylase 6 (HDAC6), an enzyme primarily located in the cytoplasm that plays a crucial role in regulating various cellular processes, including protein degradation and microtubule dynamics. HDAC6 dysregulation is implicated in several neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, as well as certain cancers. As a diagnostic tool, [18F]EKZ-002 is designed to quantify HDAC6 expression levels in vivo, potentially serving as a biomarker for disease progression or target engagement for HDAC6-targeted therapies. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
