[18F]F-JK-PSMA-7 (also known as 2-methoxy-18F-DCFPyL) is a fluorine-18 labeled small molecule radiotracer designed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of prostate cancer. Developed by the Jülich/Köln group (Forschungszentrum Jülich and the University Hospital of Cologne), the compound specifically targets the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), which is highly overexpressed in prostate cancer cells. Structurally, it is an analogue of 18F-DCFPyL, modified with a methoxy group on the fluoropyridine ring to enhance PSMA-specific cellular uptake and improve target-to-background ratios. It is primarily utilized for the initial staging of high-risk prostate cancer and the detection of lesions in patients with biochemical recurrence.
