Overview

[18F]F-RESCA-G5 is a radiopharmaceutical agent used for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging, particularly in immunoPET applications targeting the digestive system and hepatocellular carcinoma. It is synthesized by direct labeling of heat-sensitive biomolecules with fluorine-18 (^18F) using the Al^18^F-RESCA method, which employs an aluminum fluoride restrained complexing agent (RESCA) as a chelator. This approach allows efficient and mild radiolabeling of peptides, proteins, or engineered antibody fragments at room temperature in aqueous conditions. The resulting compound enables high-resolution PET imaging due to the favorable physical properties of ^18F, such as its short half-life and high positron yield. The technology was developed by academic groups specializing in radiopharmaceutical research at institutions including the University of Leuven and Vrije Universiteit Brussel[2][4].
