Drug intelligence / Profile preview
[18F]FAPI is a fluorine-18 labeled radiopharmaceutical developed by Oryx Isotopes for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. It specifically targets the fibroblast activation protein (FAP), which is highly expressed in the cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) of the tumor stroma across various solid tumors. By binding to FAP, the tracer allows for high-contrast imaging of the tumor microenvironment, potentially offering superior diagnostic performance compared to traditional tracers like [18F]FDG in certain cancers where glucose metabolism is low or background noise is high. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
