Drug intelligence / Profile preview
[18F]FEDAA1106 is a radiolabeled small molecule used as a positron emission tomography (PET) tracer for imaging the translocator protein 18 kDa (TSPO), also known as the peripheral benzodiazepine receptor. It is a highly selective and specific ligand for TSPO and enables in vivo evaluation of neuroinflammation by quantifying TSPO expression. Increased TSPO density has been observed in several neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders. [18F]FEDAA1106 demonstrates high brain uptake and binding specificity compared to other PET tracers such as [11C]PK11195. Its primary use is research-based imaging of microglial activation and inflammation in neurological diseases[3][4][8].
