[18F]FluorThanatrace is a fluorine-18 labeled PET radiotracer designed for noninvasive imaging of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP-1) expression in vivo. PARP-1 is a key enzyme involved in DNA repair and is the molecular target of PARP inhibitors, which are used as targeted therapies in several cancers. [18F]FluorThanatrace binds selectively to PARP-1, allowing visualization and quantification of its expression using PET/CT imaging. This tracer has been evaluated as an imaging biomarker for patient selection and response assessment to PARP inhibitor therapy, particularly in breast cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, and other solid tumors. It has undergone preclinical development and early-phase clinical trials demonstrating its ability to detect tumor-associated PARP-1 expression with high specificity[1][2][3][7].
