Overview

[18F]MNI-777 is a fluorine-18 labeled radiopharmaceutical developed as a positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agent for the detection of tau pathology in the brain. It is designed to bind selectively to aggregated tau protein, which accumulates in neurodegenerative diseases known as tauopathies, such as Alzheimer's disease and other related disorders. The primary mechanism involves high-affinity binding to pathological tau deposits, enabling visualization and quantification of tau burden in vivo using PET imaging technology[10][1]. This tracer supports research and potential clinical evaluation of neurodegenerative conditions by providing a non-invasive biomarker for disease diagnosis and progression.
